The explosion produced a moise that was heard 5000 kn away in Australia. Krakatoa was uninhabited , yet 36000 people died six hours later. How did they die? In 1902 Mount Pelee, a volcano on the island of Martinique, in the Caribbean erupted. The volcano erupted 8 km away from the busy sea port of St. Pierre. The eruption was not very explosive and didn't spill lava. every but one of the 30 000 inhabitants perished. The person who was not killed was in prison awaiting a murder trial. Assuming I got caught. And assuming I don't drown. And don't bother telling me not to try it. I'm a great swimmer and I know how rough the seas there can be, I've been there by boat. This is not homework, I am trying to calculate something for a rollercoaster. How many miles theoretically could you look out. I know there is a formula I just don't know it. If anyone knows this formula please answer, you do not need to tell me how many miles, just give me the formula please. This is not considering visibility levels, I just need to know the formula that shows how many mile you can look based on the height. I remember calculating that at a height of 30,000 ft. you can look 200 some miles, if that helps. Thank you and please do not answer plug the 30,000 ft. one in, I need to know exactly, and I do not know if it was exactly 30,000 ft. and it could've been 200 or 299 ft. If any of you are curious about what rollercoaster it is, Millenium Force at Cedar Point. People always say you can look Canada from the top, I used a Google Earth tool and figured out the nearest land mass (Pelee Island) on the Canadian side of the border is 17.11 miles away from the top of the 310 ft. hill of Millenium Force. Thank you meggurpanda for using this logic to help me, but like I said I'm not sure if it was 30,000 exactly, it may have been 33,000, and same with 200, it may have been 299. Musée du Rhum: operated by St. James Distellery. You are welcome to sample martinique's rums in this Museeum. This museeum is know as a fine contemporary museeum. It's suppose to be VERY icy....in Canada. I was thinking I'd go to Pelee Island in Lake Eerie, receive some wine, then take the ferry back to Kingsville, Ontario. And then start walking north. How many hours north would I have to walk to run into a polar bear? What if I walked for like 4 hours? Are there any Polar Bears at Peelee Point in Lake Eerie? IT's Canada.
