Resolved Question: who lives, or what kind of people live on pelee island?
Resolved Question: If you were at a height of 310 Ft.?
This is not homework, I am trying to calculate something for a rollercoaster. How many miles theoretically could you look out. I know there is a formula I just don't know it. If anyone knows this formula please answer, you do not need to tell me how many miles, just give me the formula please. This is not considering visibility levels, I just need to know the formula that shows how many mile you can look based on the height. I remember calculating that at a height of 30,000 ft. you can look 200 some miles, if that helps. Thank you and please do not answer plug the 30,000 ft. one in, I need to know exactly, and I do not know if it was exactly 30,000 ft. and it could've been 200 or 299 ft. If any of you are curious about what rollercoaster it is, Millenium Force at Cedar Point. People always say you can look Canada from the top, I used a Google Earth tool and figured out the nearest land mass (Pelee Island) on the Canadian side of the border is 17.11 miles away from the top of the 310 ft. hill of Millenium Force. Thank you meggurpanda for using this logic to help me, but like I said I'm not sure if it was 30,000 exactly, it may have been 33,000, and same with 200, it may have been 299. But thank you for answering my question, you will receive best answer if no one else answers by tomorrow sometime.
Resolved Question: I need help on my homework?
This is the story: The infamous volcano of Mt. Pelee looms over the village of St. Pierre on the French Caribbean Island of Martinque. This sleepy little village shows little of the grandeur of turn-of-the-century St. Pierre, which was a vibrant colonial city, known to European tourists as the "Paris of the West Indies." With its red-tiled cottages, rambling streets, and tropical vegetation, this prosperous little city was reowned for its beauty. In the official 1894 census, the population of St. Pierre was around 20,000. Although most were native Martiniquans, the wealth and political power were controlled largely by Creoles and a few French colonial officials and civil servants. No one at the time could have predicted the horror that was to descend on this tropical paradise with the reawakening of Mt. Pelee in the spring of 1902. The violent eruption of Mt. Pelee on May 8, 1902 generated a pyroclastic flow that rapidly moved down the River Blanche to destroy the tiny city of St. Pierre on the Island of Martinique. The pyroclastic flow killed over 25,000 people. Here are the 4 questions: 1. Where is Mt. Pelee? 2. What is the tourist nickname for St. Pierre? 3. Which country is credited for the colonization of St Pierre? 4. How many people died in the eruption?

Resolved Question: what is the population of pelee island?
Resolved Question: How many Christian on here are keeping on the watch, Are You Awake to Our Times?
BEING awake to danger can make the difference between life and death. This can be illustrated by what happened on two volcanic islands. Mount Pelée, the most deadly volcano of the 20th century, erupted on May 8, 1902, on the Caribbean island of Martinique. It killed every but a few of the 30,000 residents of Saint Pierre, a city at the foot of the volcano. In June 1991, Mount Pinatubo exploded in what was probably the greatest eruption of the century. It took place in a densely populated area of the Philippines and caused some 900 deaths. However, this time two factors helped to keep thousands of lives: (1) being awake to the danger and (2) willingness to act in harmony with warnings. In the first century of our Common Era, Christians living in Jerusalem also had to decide whether they should abandon their homes. Flight from that city in 66 C.E. saved them from the destruction that befell other residents and thousands of Jews who had arrive to Jerusalem for the Passover of 70 C.E. Over one million people were inside that walled city for the Passover observance when Roman armies clip off any chance of escape. Famine, power struggles, and the Romans’ relentless attacks resulted in a death toll of more than one million. The fourth-century historian Eusebius of Caesarea reports that the Christians of every Judea acted on Jesus’ warning. When the Romans abandoned their first siege of Jerusalem in 66 C.E., many Jewish Christians went to live in the Gentile city of Pella, in the Roman province of Perea. By being awake to their times and by acting on Jesus’ warning, they escaped what has been described as “one of the most terrible sieges in every history.” Today, similar vigilance is needed. So is specific action, Jesus told us what to watch for ,then he said said keep on the watch.

Resolved Question: If I enter Ontario through Windsor, how far north would I have to walk to see a Polar Bear?
It's suppose to be VERY icy....in Canada. I was thinking I'd go to Pelee Island in Lake Eerie, receive some wine, then take the ferry back to Kingsville, Ontario. And then start walking north. How many hours north would I have to walk to run into a polar bear? What if I walked for like 4 hours? Are there any Polar Bears at Peelee Point in Lake Eerie? IT's Canada. Canada is suppose to be icy. I was kidding obviously. I find it amazing how Ontario goes down so far and then winds up over Lake Superior like a labyrinth. It's really an amazing shape. You have to steer East to go north to go west to go north.
